Islamabad: The authorities in the capital city have decided to reopen the hiking spots and parks for exercise purposes but under strict SOPs.
According to sources, the city administration has issued a notification for hiking trails to be reopened for the public. Sports grounds will not be opened.
The trails were shut down during the lockdown imposed in the country to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country. The authority has ordered in the notification that while hiking, the rules of social distancing should be followed strictly. A six feet distance has to be maintained between people at all times, says the notification.
Residents of Islamabad have expressed their delight over the decision and they believe that social distancing can be maintained.
The notification held the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation and the environment directorate responsible for ensuring government SOPs are followed.
