Gwadar to Become Regional Logistics Hub in Next 5 Years – COPHC

Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), Zhang Baozhong has said that Gwadar, an important component of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would become the logistics hub in the region within five years.

“According to our plan, Gwadar would become the logistic hub in this region within five years,” Zhang Baozhong told China Economic Net (CEN) while reviewing the 5-year-journey of Gwadar.

As per its blueprint, the Free Zone will be fully developed; more than 30,000 people will be directly employed by the free zone investors, at least $10 billion GDP will be contributed to the economy of Pakistan.

And following this economic development, the life of local people will be dramatically improved or changed; more schools, hotels, and medical facilities will be constructed; water and electrical issues will be completely tackled.

Zhang invited different companies to invest in the rosy future of Gwadar. “Gwadar will become one of the attractive cities in the world-a dreamland for human beings,”

He mentioned that logistics is one of the best businesses in Gwadar as Gwadar is the gateway to Middle Asian countries. But the port itself will not generate any revenue.

A proper volume of business is needed to develop the port, and a good logistic system is needed to handle the cargo. Free zone development and port development are twin brothers, said Zhang.

An oil refinery is also welcomed as many plants depend on the availability of gas, LPG, or LNG. Gwadar is close to oil-rich countries like Oman and Saudi Arabia, and the raw materials can easily reach the port.

This business will not only help Gwadar port itself but also help Pakistan achieve a stable supply of important industrial materials.

چائنہ اوورسیز پورٹ ہولڈنگ کمپنی (سی او پی ایچ سی) کے چیئرمین ژانگ باؤزونگ نے کہا ہے کہ چائنہ پاکستان اکنامک کوریڈور (سی پی ای سی) کا ایک اہم جزو گوادر پانچ سالوں میں خطے میں لاجسٹکس کا مرکز بن جائے گا۔

ژانگ باؤژونگ نے گوادر کے 5 سالہ سفر کا جائزہ لیتے ہوئے چائنہ اکنامک نیٹ (CEN) کو بتایا کہ "ہمارے منصوبے کے مطابق، گوادر پانچ سالوں میں اس خطے کا لاجسٹک مرکز بن جائے گا۔"

اس کے بلیو پرنٹ کے مطابق، فری زون کو مکمل طور پر تیار کیا جائے گا۔ فری زون کے سرمایہ کاروں سے 30,000 سے زائد افراد کو براہ راست روزگار ملے گا، پاکستان کی معیشت میں کم از کم 10 بلین ڈالر جی ڈی پی کا حصہ ہوگا۔

اور اس اقتصادی ترقی کے بعد، مقامی لوگوں کی زندگی میں ڈرامائی طور پر بہتری یا تبدیلی آئے گی۔ مزید اسکول، ہوٹل اور طبی سہولیات تعمیر کی جائیں گی۔ پانی اور بجلی کے مسائل کو مکمل طور پر حل کیا جائے گا۔

ژانگ نے مختلف کمپنیوں کو گوادر کے روشن مستقبل میں سرمایہ کاری کی دعوت دی۔ گوادر دنیا کے پرکشش شہروں میں سے ایک بن جائے گا، انسانوں کے لیے خوابوں کی سرزمین۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ گوادر میں لاجسٹکس کا ایک بہترین کاروبار ہے کیونکہ گوادر مشرق وسطیٰ کے ممالک کا گیٹ وے ہے۔ لیکن بندرگاہ خود کوئی آمدنی پیدا نہیں کرے گی۔

بندرگاہ کو تیار کرنے کے لیے کاروبار کے مناسب حجم کی ضرورت ہے، اور کارگو کو سنبھالنے کے لیے ایک اچھا لاجسٹک نظام درکار ہے۔ ژانگ نے کہا کہ فری زون کی ترقی اور بندرگاہ کی ترقی جڑواں بھائی ہیں۔

آئل ریفائنری کا بھی خیر مقدم کیا جاتا ہے کیونکہ بہت سے پلانٹس گیس، ایل پی جی یا ایل این جی کی دستیابی پر منحصر ہیں۔ گوادر تیل کی دولت سے مالا مال ممالک عمان اور سعودی عرب کے قریب ہے اور اس بندرگاہ تک خام مال آسانی سے پہنچ سکتا ہے۔

اس کاروبار سے نہ صرف خود گوادر بندرگاہ میں مدد ملے گی بلکہ پاکستان کو اہم صنعتی مواد کی مستحکم فراہمی حاصل کرنے میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔
