Lahore: The city administration of Lahore has set up coronavirus disinfection tunnels on main roads throughout the city as a preventive measure to stop the spread of this novel virus.
The decision came after an increase in coronavirus cases was observed in the city. Those who pass via the disinfection gates will be sprayed with chlorine, which helps in killing the germs.
The disinfection gates have special automatic sensors that detect and spray people with chlorine when passing via it. A tank filled with chlorine is also placed beside the disinfection gate.
The city administration has advised the citizens to pass via the tunnels no matter if they are on foot or motorbikes.
So far, there are around 4,382 cases of COVID-19 in the province with a death tally of 51 people. The authorities are continuing to advise the citizens that social distancing is the only method through which the spread of this virus can be contained.
