Strict security steps taken in Lahore for Eid

Strict security measures have been adopted for the forthcoming Eidul Azha and Muharramul Haram to secure citizens as well as masjids, shrines, imambargahs, police stations, and other vulnerable establishments.

This was stated by CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar while chairing a meeting of all the units of Lahore Police at Qila Gujjar Singh District Police Lines on Sunday.

He suspected that due to the rapidly changing situation in neighboring country Afghanistan, Pakistan could face the threats of possible terrorist activities by the anti-state elements.

He said that the supervisory role of the sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) being in charge of operations and investigation wings was needed to be redefined and made effective to improve the overall performance of police at thana and sub-division levels.

He directed the SDPOs to round up proclaimed and targeted offenders and said that the daily presence of criminals at police stations should be made mandatory.

He warned that the SHOs using delaying tactics in registering FIRs or not responding to citizens' calls on helpline 15 regarding kite flying, firing into the air and other crime incidents would be dealt with an iron hand.

He directed the SPs to engage both parties in old enmity cases and convince them for reconciliation to avoid future killings of innocent citizens.

He directed the police officers concerned to make sufficient foolproof security arrangements during the election campaign of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and polling stations in the city as well.

He ordered them to increase security at cattle markets to protect citizens from swindlers and pickpockets.

آئندہ عیدالاضحی اور محرم الحرام کے لئے شہریوں کے ساتھ ساتھ مساجد ، مزارات ، امام بارگاہوں ، پولیس اسٹیشنوں اور دیگر کمزور اداروں کو بھی محفوظ بنانے کے لئے سخت حفاظتی اقدامات اپنائے گئے ہیں۔

یہ بات سی سی پی او غلام محمود ڈوگر نے اتوار کے روز قلعہ گجر سنگھ ڈسٹرکٹ پولیس لائنز میں لاہور پولیس کے تمام یونٹوں کے اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کہی۔

انہوں نے شبہ ظاہر کیا کہ پڑوسی ملک افغانستان میں تیزی سے بدلتی صورتحال کی وجہ سے پاکستان کو ریاست دشمن عناصر کے ذریعہ دہشت گردی کی ممکنہ سرگرمیوں کے خطرات کا سامنا کرنا پڑ سکتا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ تھانہ اور سب ڈویژن سطح پر پولیس کی مجموعی کارکردگی کو بہتر بنانے کے لئے سب ڈویژنل پولیس افسران (ایس ڈی پی اوز) کے آپریشنز اور انویسٹی گیشن ونگز کے انچارج ہونے کے نگرانی کردار کو نئے سرے سے بیان کرنے اور موثر بنانے کی ضرورت ہے۔

انہوں نے ایس ڈی پی او کو ہدایت کی کہ مجرموں کو نشانہ بنایا جائے اور کہا کہ پولیس اسٹیشنوں میں جرائم پیشہ افراد کی روزانہ موجودگی کو لازمی بنایا جائے۔

انہوں نے متنبہ کیا کہ ایف آئی آر درج کرنے میں تاخیر کا حربہ استعمال کرنے یا پتنگ بازی ، ہوا میں فائرنگ اور دیگر جرائم کے واقعات سے متعلق ہیلپ لائن 15 پر شہریوں کی کالوں کا جواب نہ دینے پر ایس ایچ اوز آہنی ہاتھوں سے نمٹا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے ایس پیز کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ دونوں فریقوں کو پرانے دشمنی کے معاملات میں شامل کریں اور انھیں مفاہمت کے لئے راضی کریں تاکہ مستقبل میں بے گناہ شہریوں کے قتل سے بچا جاسکے۔

انہوں نے متعلقہ پولیس افسران کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ آزاد جموں و کشمیر اور شہر میں بھی پولنگ اسٹیشنوں کی انتخابی مہم کے دوران سکیورٹی کے خاطر خواہ فول پروف انتظامات کریں۔

انہوں نے انہیں جانوروں کی منڈیوں میں سیکیورٹی بڑھانے کا حکم دیا تاکہ شہریوں کو غنڈہ فروشوں اور پککٹ سے بچایا جاسکے۔
