SHC orders demolition of illegal marriage halls within four weeks

According to the news source, Hearing in an appeal against non-compliance of demolition of illegal marriage halls in Karachi’s Korangi, the bench showed its resentment over the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). “Why the marriage halls are not being taken down despite SC orders,” the SHC asked the SBCA officials.

According to the details, notices have been served to the owners of the illegal wedding halls, the procedure of razing will start in a week, the lawyer of the SBCA replied to the court query.

The bench asked a number of SBCA officials who used to be present in the hearings in the recent past, but now the situation is different. Are you afraid of taking action against the marriage halls? SHC asked.

SHC while ordering SBCA to raze the illegal wedding halls in Korangi directed to submit a report within 4 weeks. Last year, the Director-General of the SBCA, Iftikhar Qaimkhani, had sought a list of buildings.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق کراچی کے علاقے کورنگی میں غیر قانونی شادی ہالز کی مسماری کے خلاف اپیل کی سماعت کرتے ہوئے بنچ نے سندھ بلڈنگ کنٹرول اتھارٹی (ایس بی سی اے) پر برہمی کا اظہار کیا۔ ایس ایچ سی نے ایس بی سی اے حکام سے پوچھا، "ایس سی کے احکامات کے باوجود شادی ہال کیوں نہیں ہٹائے جا رہے ہیں۔"
تفصیلات کے مطابق غیر قانونی شادی ہالز کے مالکان کو نوٹسز بھجوا دیے گئے، ایک ہفتے میں گرانے کا عمل شروع ہو جائے گا، ایس بی سی اے کے وکیل نے عدالتی استفسار پر جواب دیا۔
بنچ نے ایس بی سی اے کے متعدد عہدیداروں سے پوچھا جو ماضی قریب میں سماعتوں میں پیش ہوتے تھے لیکن اب صورتحال مختلف ہے۔ کیا آپ شادی ہالز کے خلاف کارروائی سے ڈرتے ہیں؟ ایس ایچ سی نے پوچھا۔
سندھ ہائی کورٹ نے ایس بی سی اے کو کورنگی میں غیر قانونی شادی ہال مسمار کرنے کا حکم دیتے ہوئے 4 ہفتوں میں رپورٹ پیش کرنے کی ہدایت کردی۔ گزشتہ سال ایس بی سی اے کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل افتخار قائم خانی نے عمارتوں کی فہرست طلب کی تھی۔
