RUDA to Regularize Few Housing Societies on Riverfront

The housing societies falling within the territorial jurisdiction of the mega Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project’s phase-I (purple zone) will be regularized. However, there is no plan for those housing schemes developed in the riverbed or the flood plain, according to RUDA Chief Executive Officer Imran Ameen.

Speaking with the journalists, Imran said, “We have made three zones in phase-1 -- Brown Zone, Green Zone, and Purple Zone. In the brown zone, anyone can develop infrastructure as per the needs, standards, and specifications of Ruda. The green zone is fixed for agricultural and forestry-related activities, as none of the structures built already would be regularised or approved under the law.

He also said that the schemes falling in the flood plains or the riverbed would be relocated by all means and nothing would be considered related to the construction of houses or other built-up areas.

He said the authority had also written a letter to the local government & community development department requesting it to cooperate for resolving various issues in the huge project area of over 102,000 acres.

صحافیوں سے بات کرتے ہوئے عمران نے کہا کہ ہم نے فیز 1 میں تین زون بنائے ہیں - براؤن زون، گرین زون اور پرپل زون۔ براؤن زون میں، کوئی بھی روڈا کی ضروریات، معیار اور وضاحتوں کے مطابق انفراسٹرکچر تیار کر سکتا ہے۔ گرین زون زرعی اور جنگلات سے متعلق سرگرمیوں کے لیے مقرر کیا گیا ہے، کیونکہ پہلے سے بنائے گئے کسی بھی ڈھانچے کو قانون کے تحت باقاعدہ یا منظور نہیں کیا جائے گا۔
انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ سیلابی میدانوں یا دریا کے کنارے میں آنے والی اسکیموں کو ہر طرح سے منتقل کیا جائے گا اور مکانات کی تعمیر یا دیگر تعمیر شدہ علاقوں سے متعلق کسی بھی چیز پر غور نہیں کیا جائے گا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ اتھارٹی نے لوکل گورنمنٹ اور کمیونٹی ڈویلپمنٹ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کو ایک خط بھی لکھا ہے جس میں 102,000 ایکڑ سے زیادہ کے بڑے پروجیکٹ ایریا میں مختلف مسائل کے حل کے لیے تعاون کرنے کی درخواست کی گئی ہے۔
