RDA chief advises citizens to check the status of housing societies before investment

According to the news sources, Chairman, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Tariq Mehmood Murtaza advised citizens to check the status of the housing societies from the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, RDA or visit the RDA official website rda.gop.pk to know the status of the housing projects before making any investment.

While talking to the media, He informed that the staff of the Directorate of MP&TE continuously working along with police and Elite Force and conducting an operation against housing societies that have not proper NOC.  He also added that the site offices of the illegal housing projects were also being sealed while the booking offices of these societies were being demolished.

Under a campaign launched against illegal housing societies, advertisements were published in national dailies for awareness of the general public, he added.

While talking to the media Tariq Mehmood Murtaza also conversant that the RDA was conducting regular counter to rules violators including plazas, shops, schools, and other illegal land use encroachments.

The Chairman said the department-imposed fines and commercialization fee was also collected from various residential cum commercial buildings owners for constructing illegal residential cum commercial buildings without approval of map/No Objection Certificates (NOCs), in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020.

He said the authorities concerned had been directed to take severe action against violations, illegal and unauthorized structures, and commercial activities without any discrimination.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق راولپنڈی ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (آر ڈی اے) کے چیئرمین طارق محمود مرتضیٰ نے شہریوں کو مشورہ دیا کہ وہ میٹروپولیٹن پلاننگ اینڈ ٹریفک انجینئرنگ (ایم پی اینڈ ٹی ای) ڈائریکٹوریٹ، (آر ڈی اے) سے ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کا اسٹیٹس چیک کریں یا (آر ڈی اے) کی آفیشل ویب سائٹ  پر جائیں۔ کوئی بھی سرمایہ کاری کرنے سے پہلے ہاؤسنگ پراجیکٹس کی حالت جاننے کے لیے۔
میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے بتایا کہ ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف ایم پی اینڈ ٹی ای کا عملہ پولیس اور ایلیٹ فورس کے ساتھ مسلسل کام کر رہا ہے اور مناسب این او سی نہ رکھنے والی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے خلاف آپریشن کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ پراجیکٹس کے سائٹ آفس کو بھی سیل کیا جا رہا ہے جبکہ ان سوسائٹیوں کے بکنگ دفاتر کو مسمار کیا جا رہا ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے خلاف شروع کی گئی مہم کے تحت عوام کی آگاہی کے لیے قومی روزناموں میں اشتہارات شائع کیے گئے۔
میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے طارق محمود مرتضیٰ نے یہ بھی بتایا کہ آر ڈی اے قوانین کی خلاف ورزی کرنے والوں کے خلاف باقاعدہ کاؤنٹر کر رہا ہے جن میں پلازوں، دکانوں، سکولوں اور زمین کے استعمال سے دیگر غیر قانونی تجاوزات شامل ہیں۔
چیئرمین نے کہا کہ پنجاب ڈویلپمنٹ آف سٹیز ایکٹ 1976 کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوئے نقشہ/نو آبجیکشن سرٹیفکیٹس (این او سی) کی منظوری کے بغیر غیر قانونی رہائشی اور کمرشل عمارتوں کی تعمیر پر مختلف رہائشی اور کمرشل عمارتوں کے مالکان سے محکمہ کی طرف سے عائد جرمانے اور کمرشلائزیشن فیس بھی وصول کی گئی۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ متعلقہ حکام کو بغیر کسی امتیاز کے خلاف ورزیوں، غیر قانونی اور غیر مجاز تعمیرات اور تجارتی سرگرمیوں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے۔
