PM's low-cost housing scheme will benefit the poor: President Alvi

The president believes that the underprivileged community of the country will enormously benefit from this scheme. He also said that the scheme will generate economic activities throughout the country, as well as, provide affordable houses to the low strata of the society.

The president said this at a meeting with the Akhuwat Chairman, Dr. Amjad Saqib where the latter briefed about the progress made by Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance with regard to the construction of low-cost houses.

It should be noted here that for the first time in Pakistan, commercial banks are providing house loans at very low-interest rates on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Moreover, Naya Pakistan Housing Project has also been started in different cities across the country.

صدر کا خیال ہے کہ اس اسکیم سے ملک کی پسماندہ طبقہ کو بہت فائدہ ہوگا۔ انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ یہ اسکیم پورے ملک میں معاشی سرگرمیاں پیدا کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ معاشرے کے نچلے طبقے کو سستے مکانات مہیا کرے گی۔
صدر نے یہ بات اچھوت کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب سے ملاقات میں کہی جس میں بعد کے صدر نے کم قیمت والے مکانات کی تعمیر کے سلسلے میں اخوت اسلامی مائکرو فنانس کی پیشرفت کے بارے میں بتایا۔
یہاں یہ واضح رہے کہ پاکستان میں پہلی بار وزیر اعظم عمران خان کی ہدایت پر کمرشل بینک انتہائی کم شرح سود پر گھریلو قرضے فراہم کررہے ہیں۔ مزید یہ کہ نیا پاکستان ہاؤسنگ پروجیکٹ بھی ملک بھر کے مختلف شہروں میں شروع کیا گیا ہے۔
