PM Imran approves establishment of Pakistan Cotton Authority

According to the news sources, He made the decision while chairing a meeting focused on exploring ways to increase the production of cotton in the country.

"The authority will research to increase the supply, monitoring, and production of quality seeds," the PMO statement added.

The PM said that the use of modern technology was essential to increase yield per acre.

According to the details, the meeting also approved setting up an inter-ministerial committee to expedite the production of quality cotton seeds.

The statement added that as per the directions of the prime minister, a Farmers' Forum has been set up under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Food Security.

"The purpose of this forum is to ensure the representation of farmers in policy matters and to resolve their issues expeditiously," it said.

The Prime Minister also approved the convening of a National Cotton Conference. He also directed authorities to carry out feasibility for setting up plants for local production of DAP fertilizer in the country.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق انہوں نے یہ فیصلہ ملک میں کپاس کی پیداوار بڑھانے کے طریقے تلاش کرنے کے حوالے سے اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کیا۔
پی ایم او کے بیان میں مزید کہا گیا ہے کہ "اتھارٹی معیاری بیجوں کی فراہمی، نگرانی اور پیداوار کو بڑھانے کے لیے تحقیق کرے گی۔"
وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ فی ایکڑ پیداوار بڑھانے کے لیے جدید ٹیکنالوجی کا استعمال ضروری ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق اجلاس میں کپاس کے معیاری بیجوں کی پیداوار میں تیزی لانے کے لیے ایک بین وزارتی کمیٹی قائم کرنے کی بھی منظوری دی گئی۔
بیان میں مزید کہا گیا کہ وزیراعظم کی ہدایت پر وفاقی وزیر فوڈ سیکیورٹی کی سربراہی میں کسان فورم قائم کیا گیا ہے۔
اس نے کہا، "اس فورم کا مقصد پالیسی معاملات میں کسانوں کی نمائندگی کو یقینی بنانا اور ان کے مسائل کو تیزی سے حل کرنا ہے۔"
وزیراعظم نے نیشنل کاٹن کانفرنس بلانے کی بھی منظوری دی۔ انہوں نے حکام کو یہ بھی ہدایت کی کہ وہ ملک میں ڈی اے پی کھاد کی مقامی پیداوار کے لیے پلانٹ لگانے کی فزیبلٹی کو انجام دیں۔
