Naya Punjab Solarisation Project in Lahore General Hospital opens

The Provincial Minister for Energy Dr. Akhtar Malik along with Minister for Prisons and spokesperson to Punjab Govt Fayyaz ul Hasan Chohan inaugurated the Naya Punjab Solarisation Project in Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Tuesday.

 The project cost is Rs84.5 million and it will save annual electricity worth Rs. 37.8 million. Earlier, he also inaugurated 1.40 kW Naya Punjab Retrofitting project at Mian Munshi District Headquarters Hospital with the cost of Rs16.84 million.

The annual saving in electricity bills is estimated to be Rs28 million in this project. Addressing the media, Dr. Akhtar Malik said that there were over 95000 public connections and the Punjab govt was paying Rs37 billion as an electricity bill.

He said his target was to convert all public sector connections to the solar systems to lower the financial burden on the public exchequer. Dr. Akhtar Malik said that in the first phase Retrofitting of Islamia University Bahawalpur, Nishtar Hospital Multan, Govt College University Lahore, and General Hospital was completed.

لاہور: صوبائی وزیر توانائی نے ایک اور وزیر کے ہمراہ لاہور جنرل ہسپتال میں نیا پنجاب سولرائزیشن پراجیکٹ کا افتتاح کیا۔ صوبائی وزیر توانائی ڈاکٹر اختر ملک نے وزیر جیل خانہ جات اور ترجمان پنجاب حکومت فیاض الحسن چوہان کے ہمراہ منگل کے روز لاہور جنرل ہسپتال (LGH) میں نیا پنجاب سولرائزیشن پراجیکٹ کا افتتاح کیا۔ منصوبے کی لاگت 84.5 ملین روپے ہے اور اس سے سالانہ بجلی کی بچت ہو گی۔ 37.8 ملین قبل ازیں انہوں نے میاں منشی ڈسٹرکٹ ہیڈ کوارٹر ہسپتال میں 16.84 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے 1.40 کلو واٹ نیا پنجاب ریٹروفٹنگ پروجیکٹ کا افتتاح بھی کیا۔ بجلی کے بلوں میں سالانہ بچت کا تخمینہ 28 ملین روپے ہے۔ میڈیا سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے ڈاکٹر اختر ملک نے کہا کہ 95000 سے زائد پبلک کنکشن تھے اور پنجاب حکومت بجلی کے بل کے طور پر 37 ارب روپے ادا کر رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ان کا ہدف پبلک سیکٹر کے تمام کنکشن کو سولر سسٹم میں تبدیل کرنا ہے تاکہ سرکاری خزانے پر مالی بوجھ کم ہو۔ ڈاکٹر اختر ملک نے کہا کہ پہلے مرحلے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ، نشتر ہسپتال ملتان ، گورنمنٹ کالج یونیورسٹی لاہور اور جنرل ہسپتال کی ریٹروفٹنگ مکمل ہوئی۔
