Leh expressway project formally approved by RDA after a public hearing

After the public hearing, RDA will issue its final NOC to the Leh Expressway project from the provincial environmental protection agency. RDA will be formally writing to the agency so the NOC can be issued in around 3 days.

The total length of the signal-free expressway has been reduced to 16 km while costing Rs.108 billion. Rs.240 million has been released for the acquisition and clearance of land for the project. 29 objections were released against the project which were removed.

The 665 kanals of land acquired will be cleared and around 574 big trees will be chopped down, and 574 6-10ft trees will be planted. Added to that, 10,000 fruit trees will be planted on either side of the expressway.

عوامی سماعت کے بعد، RDA صوبائی ماحولیاتی تحفظ ایجنسی سے لیہہ ایکسپریس وے منصوبے کے لیے اپنا حتمی NOC جاری کرے گا۔ یہ باضابطہ طور پر آر ڈی اے ایجنسی کو لکھے گا تاکہ این او سی تقریباً تین دن میں جاری کیا جا سکے۔
سگنل فری ایکسپریس وے کی کل لمبائی 16 کلومیٹر کر دی گئی ہے جبکہ اس پر 108 ارب روپے لاگت آئی ہے۔ زمین کے حصول اور کلیئرنس کے لیے منصوبے کے لیے 240 ملین روپے جاری کیے گئے ہیں۔
حاصل کی گئی 665 کنال اراضی کو واگزار کرایا جائے گا اور تقریباً 574 بڑے درخت کاٹ دیے جائیں گے اور 6-10 فٹ اونچائی والے 574 درخت کسی اور جگہ لگائے جائیں گے۔ اس کے علاوہ ایکسپریس وے کے دونوں طرف 10,000 پھل دار درخت لگائے جائیں گے۔
