Increasing hindrances in completion of Orange Line Train

According to sources, preparations are underway to repay a loan of Rs 165 billion taken from China for the Orange Line train, but an installment of it has reached Rs 15 to 16 billion. Increased line train installment.

According to the news reported by sources, the first installment of the Orange Line train was Rs. 15 billion which has now increased to Rs. 1 billion. The Punjab government is going to start repaying the loan from the next financial year 2023-24 which will put an additional burden on the provincial exchequer.

It should be noted that the government is giving a subsidy of more than Rs 8 billion annually on the Orange Line train while the income is equal to salt in the flour.

ذرائع کے مطابق اورنج لائن ٹرین کیلئے چین سے لیے گئے 165 ارب روپے کے قرض کی واپسی کیلئے تیاریاں جاری ہیں لیکن اس کی ایک قسط 15 سے 16 ارب روپے تک پہنچ چکی ہے، پنجاب حکومت کے اندرونی اور بیرونی قرضہ جات میں اتار چڑھاؤ سے اورنج لائن ٹرین کی قسط میں اضافہ ہوا۔

سٹی 42 کو موصول ہونے والی دستاویزات کے مطابق اورنج لائن ٹرین کی پہلی قسط پندرہ ارب روپے تھی جس میں اب ایک ارب روپےکا اضافہ ہوا، پنجاب حکومت قرض کی ادائیگی آئندہ نئے مالی سال 2023-24 ء سے شروع کرنے جارہی ہے جس سے صوبائی خزانے پر اضافی بوجھ پڑے گا۔

واضح رہےکہ اورنج لائن ٹرین پر حکومت سالانہ 8 ارب روپے سے زائد کی سبسڈی دے رہی ہے جبکہ آمدن آٹے میں نمک کے برابر ہے۔
