Illegal constructions still going on in Kumrat Valley

Despite the ban on the construction of buildings in the famous tourist spot of Kumrat Valley in Dir Upper district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa by the district administration, illegal constructions are still going on unchecked.

These unplanned buildings are the major threat to the natural beauty of the valley which is very famous among the tourists coming from Punjab.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department has also failed to facilitate tourists by constructing a proper road to the valley as it is not possible to go there without a 4x4 vehicle which everyone can’t afford easily.

Talking to our sources, Tanveer Shah, a resident of Balochistan, said that he, and his friends decided to go to Kumrat Valley after reading about it in newspapers and watching pictures, and videos on social media, and they found it really good a place to visit but the roads were in very bad shape, and inundated in many places by large standing pools.

It is worth noting here that it takes six hours to reach the valley from Kumrat Gate in a good 4x4 pickup. The distance is not more than 100 kilometers.

If the road is constructed, it will take just an hour to reach the valley and more and more visitors will be able to come here.

The road is not only unpaved but also full of standing water pools which are passable in only off-road vehicles.

ضلعی انتظامیہ کی جانب سے خیبر پختونخوا کے ضلع دیر بالا میں وادی کمراٹ کے مشہور سیاحتی مقام پر عمارتوں کی تعمیر پر پابندی کے باوجود غیر قانونی تعمیرات اب بھی بغیر چیکنگ کے جاری ہیں۔

یہ غیر منصوبہ بند عمارتیں وادی کی قدرتی خوبصورتی کے لیے بڑا خطرہ ہیں جو کہ پنجاب سے آنے والے سیاحوں میں بہت مشہور ہے۔

خیبر پختونخوا کا سیاحت کا محکمہ بھی وادی کے لیے مناسب سڑک بنا کر سیاحوں کو سہولت فراہم کرنے میں ناکام رہا ہے کیونکہ وہاں 4x4 گاڑی کے بغیر جانا ممکن نہیں ہے جسے ہر کوئی آسانی سے برداشت نہیں کر سکتا۔

ہمارے ذرائع سے بات کرتے ہوئے ، بلوچستان کے رہائشی تنویر شاہ نے بتایا کہ اس نے اور اس کے دوستوں نے وادی کمراٹ جانے کا فیصلہ اخبارات میں اس کے بارے میں پڑھنے اور سوشل میڈیا پر تصاویر اور ویڈیوز دیکھنے کے بعد کیا اور انہیں یہ واقعی اچھی جگہ ملی۔ ملاحظہ کیجئے لیکن سڑکیں بہت خراب حالت میں تھیں ، اور کئی جگہوں پر بڑے کھڑے تالابوں کی وجہ سے پانی میں ڈوب گئے۔

یہاں یہ بات قابل غور ہے کہ کمراٹ گیٹ سے اچھی 4x4 پک اپ میں وادی تک پہنچنے میں چھ گھنٹے لگتے ہیں۔ فاصلہ 100 کلومیٹر سے زیادہ نہیں ہے۔

اگر سڑک بن جائے تو وادی تک پہنچنے میں صرف ایک گھنٹہ لگے گا اور زیادہ سے زیادہ زائرین یہاں آ سکیں گے۔

سڑک نہ صرف کچی ہے بلکہ کھڑے پانی کے تالابوں سے بھری ہوئی ہے جو صرف آف روڈ گاڑیوں میں گزرنے کے قابل ہیں۔
