ICCI praises extension in relief package for construction industry

Fatima Azim has said that the business community of the country was demanding an extension in the relief package for the construction industry because insufficient time was given to benefit from it. She further said that the decision is highly commendable as it would steer the economy out of the current crisis towards better recovery and growth.

“The PM has extended the fixed tax regime for the construction sector for one and the facility of non-disclosure of the source of income for six months, which is very encouraging,” Fatima said. “The business community has also welcomed the one year’s extension in the period for construction projects by allowing them to be completed by 2023 which would facilitate initiation and execution of more projects in this important sector,” she added.

It should be noted that earlier this week, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced an extension in the relief package for the construction sector.

اسلام آباد: اسلام آباد چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (آئی سی سی آئی) کی قائم مقام صدر فاطمہ عظیم نے وزیر اعظم عمران خان کے تعمیراتی صنعت کے لئے امدادی پیکیج میں توسیع کرنے کے اعلان کی تعریف کی ہے۔
فاطمہ عظیم نے کہا ہے کہ ملک کی تاجر برادری تعمیراتی صنعت کے لئے ریلیف پیکیج میں توسیع کا مطالبہ کررہی تھی کیونکہ اس سے فائدہ اٹھانے کے لئے ناکافی وقت دیا گیا تھا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ یہ فیصلہ انتہائی قابل تحسین ہے کیونکہ اس سے معیشت کو موجودہ بحرانی صورتحال سے نکال کر بہتر بحالی اور ترقی کی طرف گامزن کیا جائے گا۔
فاطمہ نے کہا ، "وزیر اعظم نے ایک کے لئے تعمیراتی شعبے کے لئے مقررہ ٹیکس نظام میں توسیع کی ہے اور ذرائع آمدن کے عدم انکشاف کی سہولت کو چھ ماہ کے لئے بڑھایا ہے ، جو بہت حوصلہ افزا ہے۔" انہوں نے مزید کہا ، "بزنس کمیونٹی نے تعمیراتی منصوبوں کی مدت میں ایک سال کی توسیع کا خیرمقدم کیا ہے جس کی 2023 تک تکمیل کی اجازت ہے جس سے اس اہم شعبے میں مزید منصوبوں کی شروعات اور ان پر عملدرآمد میں آسانی ہوگی۔"
واضح رہے کہ اس ہفتے کے شروع میں وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے تعمیراتی شعبے کے لئے ریلیف پیکیج میں توسیع کا اعلان کیا تھا۔
