Govt. focusing on making business-friendly budgets

Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht has said that the federal, and Punjab budgets for financial year 2021-22 will be pro-business, adding tax reliefs were given in Punjab budget 2020-21 and same approach will be adopted in the upcoming budget.

The minister was speaking at Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry along with Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Zain-ul-Abidin.

LCCI president Mian Tariq Misbah presented the address of welcome while senior vice-president Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, and Vice-President Tahir Manzoor Ch spoke on the occasion.

“The testing lab facility will be part of the package”, he said, adding that testing labs are being set up for the food and drugs sector. He said that the business community will be consulted for special package.

About Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess, the minister said that the feasibility in this regard will be completed within three months and if study will support and help to restore the activities at dry ports, Punjab Infrastructure Development tax will be relieved.

“We are committed to giving more tax relief to the businessmen in the next financial year”, the minister added.

He demanded the removal of this tax in the provincial budget 2021-22 to ease out the business community, and revive economic activities at dry ports.

وزیر خزانہ مخدوم ہاشم جوان بخت نے کہا ہے کہ مالی سال 2021-22 کے وفاقی اور پنجاب کے بجٹ کاروبار کے حامی ہوں گے ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پنجاب کے بجٹ 2020-21 میں ٹیکس میں چھوٹ دی گئی ہے اور آئندہ بجٹ میں بھی یہی طریقہ اپنایا جائے گا۔

وزیر لاہور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری میں چیئرمین پنجاب ریونیو اتھارٹی (پی آر اے) زین العابدین کے ساتھ گفتگو کررہے تھے۔

ایل سی سی آئی کے صدر میاں طارق مصباح نے خطبہ استقبالیہ پیش کیا جبکہ سینئر نائب صدر محمد ناصر حمید خان ، اور نائب صدر طاہر منظور چوہدری نے خطاب کیا۔

انہوں نے کہا ، "ٹیسٹنگ لیب کی سہولت اس پیکیج کا حصہ ہوگی۔" انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ فوڈ اینڈ ڈرگس سیکٹر کے لئے ٹیسٹنگ لیب قائم کی جارہی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ خصوصی پیکیج کے لئے تاجر برادری سے مشاورت کی جائے گی۔

پنجاب انفراسٹرکچر ڈویلپمنٹ سیس کے بارے میں ، وزیر نے کہا کہ اس سلسلے میں فزیبلٹی تین ماہ میں مکمل ہوجائے گی اور اگر مطالعہ خشک بندرگاہوں پر سرگرمیوں کو بحال کرنے میں معاون اور مددگار ثابت ہوگا تو ، پنجاب انفراسٹرکچر ڈویلپمنٹ ٹیکس سے نجات حاصل ہوگی۔

وزیر نے مزید کہا کہ "ہم اگلے مالی سال میں تاجروں کو زیادہ سے زیادہ ٹیکس میں ریلیف دینے کے لئے پرعزم ہیں"۔

انہوں نے بزنس کمیونٹی کو آسان بنانے اور خشک بندرگاہوں پر معاشی سرگرمیوں کو بحال کرنے کے لئے صوبائی بجٹ 2021-22 میں اس ٹیکس کو ختم کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔
