Foundation stone of Gulab Devi underpass has been laid

The chief minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Gulab Devi Underpass and Lahore Bridge expansion projects on Monday (today). He will be briefed by the Director-General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) about the projects. Usman Buzdar has said that Lahore is the heart of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said in a statement that work had already been started on projects worth billions of rupees for the development of Lahore city. Criticizing the previous government, he said that the self-exhibitory projects of the former rulers became a burden on the national exchequer as the needs and the preferences of the people were ignored in the previous regimes. 

“The projects of former rulers have proved white elephants,” he added. Usman Bazdar said that the current government had started projects keeping in view the needs of the citizens of Lahore, adding that for the first time the neglected areas of Lahore were included in the development journey. He assured me that record development works would be completed in Lahore city in the next two years.

“The former rulers,” he said, “believed only in lip service. Those who are crying for the past three years will continue to do so for the next two years.”

لاہور۔ وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب سردار عثمان بزدار کی خصوصی ہدایت پر حکومت نے لاہوریوں کو امداد فراہم کرنے کے لئے اربوں روپے کے منصوبوں پر کام شروع کردیا۔

وزیراعلیٰ (آج) پیر کو گلاب دیوی انڈر پاس اور لاہور پل توسیعی منصوبوں کا سنگ بنیاد رکھیں گے۔ انہیں لاہور ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (ایل ڈی اے) کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل کے ذریعے منصوبوں کے بارے میں بریف کیا جائے گا۔ عثمان بزدار نے کہا ہے کہ لاہور پاکستان کا دل ہے۔

دریں اثنا ، وزیر اعلی نے ایک بیان میں کہا کہ لاہور شہر کی ترقی کے لئے اربوں روپے کے منصوبوں پر کام پہلے ہی شروع کر دیا گیا ہے۔ سابقہ حکومت پر تنقید کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ سابقہ حکمرانوں کی خود ساختہ منصوبے قومی خزانے پر بوجھ بن گئے کیونکہ گذشتہ دور حکومتوں میں عوام کی ضروریات اور ترجیحات کو نظرانداز کیا گیا تھا۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا ، "سابقہ حکمرانوں کے منصوبوں سے سفید ہاتھی ثابت ہوئے ہیں۔ عثمان بزدار نے کہا کہ موجودہ حکومت نے لاہور کے شہریوں کی ضروریات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے منصوبے شروع کیے تھے ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پہلی بار لاہور کے نظرانداز علاقوں کو ترقیاتی سفر میں شامل کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے یقین دلایا کہ آئندہ دو سالوں میں لاہور شہر میں ریکارڈ ترقیاتی کام مکمل ہوجائیں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا ، "سابقہ حکمران صرف لبوں کی خدمت پر یقین رکھتے ہیں۔ جو لوگ پچھلے تین سالوں سے رو رہے ہیں اگلے دو سالوں تک یہ کام جاری رکھیں گے۔
