DC advises tourists to strictly follow the traffic advisories in Murree

According to the news sources, the town has a limited parking capacity of 4,000 vehicles but so far 50,000 cars have been entered Murree to enjoy the snowfall causing huge traffic jams.

While talking to the media, Deputy commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the tourists should get weather updates and traffic-related information by calling on 051-9269019 before travelling to Murree, adding, tourists should keep the air pressure in their vehicle’s tyres low and always avoid stopping their cars in the middle of the road for capturing photos and selfies.

He said that a large number of vehicles illegally parked on either side of the roads further reduced the space available for vehicles to move forward. DC added that the number of traffic wardens under the supervision of inspectors had been deployed at all important points for the traveller’s safety.

All restaurants are jam-packed with tourists and the demand for woollens and dry fruits has gone up, as the mercury falls below the freezing point, he added.

While talking to the media he further added that district administration and traffic police are striving hard to provide the best facilities to the tourists coming to Murree. He warned that strict action would be taken against the violators and no leniency would be shown in this regard.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق قصبے میں 4 ہزار گاڑیوں کی پارکنگ کی محدود گنجائش ہے لیکن اب تک 50 ہزار کاریں برف باری سے لطف اندوز ہونے کے لیے مری میں داخل ہو چکی ہیں جس کے باعث شدید ٹریفک جام ہو گیا ہے۔
میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ڈپٹی کمشنر محمد علی رندھاوا نے کہا کہ سیاح مری جانے سے قبل 051-9269019 پر کال کر کے موسم کی تازہ ترین معلومات اور ٹریفک سے متعلق معلومات حاصل کریں، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ سیاح اپنی گاڑیوں کے ٹائروں میں ہوا کا دباؤ کم رکھیں ۔ تصاویر اور سیلفیز لینے کے لیے اپنی گاڑیوں کو سڑک کے بیچوں بیچ روکنے سے گریز کریں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ سڑکوں کے دونوں طرف غیر قانونی طور پر کھڑی گاڑیوں کی ایک بڑی تعداد نے گاڑیوں کے آگے جانے کے لیے دستیاب جگہ کو مزید کم کر دیا ہے۔ ڈی سی نے مزید کہا کہ انسپکٹرز کی نگرانی میں ٹریفک وارڈنز کی تعداد مسافروں کی حفاظت کے لیے تمام اہم مقامات پر تعینات کی گئی ہے۔
