Collect tax from owners of Houses and shops located along highways: Excise Orders

Tax on these properties was permissible last year and for this purpose, the department also completed its property –tax evaluation survey. It is reported that the process of collecting taxes could not begin last year due to the lack of staff and transport facilities.

Resources reported that each tax inspector has been assigned an area spanning 25 square kilometers. These tax inspectors have been directed to accumulate taxes from residential or commercial property owners residing in areas In order to ensure smooth operations of property tax collection, the Excise offices in all divisions and districts have requested the head office to provide the required workforce and transportation facility.

As reported earlier, the Excise Department had imposed a property tax on over 700,000 commercial and residential buildings located along with the 4,000-kilometer-long network of highways and motorways in Punjab. For this purpose, the department had also notified rules; according to which properties owned by the local government department, retired government employees, welfare institutes, and buildings spanning an area of 5 marlas will enjoy the tax exemption.

For the rest of the buildings, the department had decided to impose property tax according to its Deputy Collector (DC) Rate and covered area. In order to determine the covered area, the department had announced its decision to use drone cameras and 3D photography.

وسائل نے اطلاع دی ہے کہ ہر ٹیکس انسپکٹر کو 25 مربع کلو میٹر کا رقبہ تفویض کیا گیا ہے۔ ان ٹیکس انسپکٹرز کو ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ وہ علاقوں میں رہائش پذیر رہائشی یا تجارتی املاک کے مالکان سے ٹیکس جمع کریں۔ پراپرٹی ٹیکس کی وصولی کو ہموار عمل کو یقینی بنانے کے لئے ، تمام ڈویژنوں اور اضلاع کے ایکسائز دفاتر نے ہیڈ آفس سے مطلوبہ ورک فورس اور ٹرانسپورٹ کی فراہمی کی درخواست کی ہے۔

باقی عمارتوں کے لئے ، محکمہ نے اپنے ڈپٹی کلکٹر (ڈی سی) ریٹ اور احاطہ شدہ ایریا کے مطابق پراپرٹی ٹیکس لگانے کا فیصلہ کیا تھا۔ احاطہ کرتا علاقہ کا تعین کرنے کے لئے ، محکمہ نے ڈرون کیمرے اور تھری ڈی فوٹو گرافی کے استعمال کے اپنے فیصلے کا اعلان کیا تھا۔
