CM KP reviews progress on implementation of New Balakot City Project

The meeting deliberated upon matters pertaining to the implementation of the project, challenges being faced and future course of action to ensure further progress on the Balakot City Project.

The meeting also deliberated upon the recommendations of the committee constituted under the supervision of Commissioner Hazara Division regarding the implementation of the project. 

The meeting was attended besides others by Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lt Gen Akhtar Nawaz, Provincial Minister for Labour Shukat Yousafzai, concerned administrative secretaries, Commissioner Hazara, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, Director-General ERRA, and Chief Engineer New Balakot City. 

The meeting also considered different options including public-private partnership and government to government models for the execution of the project and it was decided that concerned provincial departments, ERRA, and other concerned entities will prepare solid proposals in this regard which will be submitted to the Prime Minister for final approval.  

The meeting also made a threadbare discussion on reservations of earthquake affectees and landowners regarding the Balakot City Project and the Chief Minister directed the entities concerned to take concrete steps so as to address the genuine reservations of people and build their confidence.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the main motive behind New Balakot City Project was to compensate the affectees of the old Balakot City and fulfill the promises made with them.

پشاور: وزیراعلیٰ کے پی محمود خان کی زیر صدارت نیو بالاکوٹ سٹی پراجیکٹ پر عملدرآمد کا جائزہ لینے کے لیے ایک اعلیٰ سطحی اجلاس ہوا۔

اجلاس میں بالاکوٹ سٹی پراجیکٹ پر مزید پیش رفت کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے اس منصوبے پر عملدرآمد ، درپیش چیلنجز اور مستقبل کے لائحہ عمل سے متعلق امور پر غور کیا گیا۔

اجلاس میں منصوبے پر عملدرآمد کے حوالے سے کمشنر ہزارہ ڈویژن کی نگرانی میں تشکیل دی گئی کمیٹی کی سفارشات پر بھی غور کیا گیا۔

اجلاس میں دیگر کے علاوہ چیئرمین نیشنل ڈیزاسٹر مینجمنٹ اتھارٹی لیفٹیننٹ جنرل اختر نواز ، صوبائی وزیر محنت شوکت یوسف زئی ، متعلقہ انتظامی سیکرٹریز ، کمشنر ہزارہ ، ڈپٹی کمشنر مانسہرہ ، ڈائریکٹر جنرل ای آر آر اے اور چیف انجینئر نیو بالاکوٹ سٹی نے شرکت کی۔

اجلاس میں پراجیکٹ پر عملدرآمد کے لیے پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ اور حکومت سے سرکاری ماڈلز سمیت مختلف آپشنز پر بھی غور کیا گیا اور فیصلہ کیا گیا کہ متعلقہ صوبائی محکمے ، ای آر آر اے اور دیگر متعلقہ ادارے اس حوالے سے ٹھوس تجاویز تیار کریں گے جو کہ حتمی طور پر وزیر اعظم کو پیش کی جائیں گی۔

اجلاس میں بالاکوٹ سٹی پراجیکٹ کے حوالے سے زلزلہ متاثرین اور زمین کے مالکان کے تحفظات پر تھریڈبر بحث ہوئی اور وزیراعلیٰ نے متعلقہ اداروں کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ ٹھوس اقدامات کریں تاکہ لوگوں کے حقیقی تحفظات کو دور کیا جا سکے اور ان کا اعتماد بڑھایا جا سکے۔

اس موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ نیو بالاکوٹ سٹی پراجیکٹ کا بنیادی مقصد پرانے بالاکوٹ شہر کے متاثرین کو معاوضہ دینا اور ان سے کئے گئے وعدوں کو پورا کرنا ہے۔
