CDA utilizing transplanting machines to shift fully-grown trees

Capital Development Authority (CDA) is utilizing modern tree spades (transplanting machines) to shift fully-grown trees coming under the development of the Rawal Dam interchange.

CDA has already committed in Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report that no tree will be chopped/cut falling in the project rather these will be transplanted to an alternative site in the vicinity.

In this context, trees being transplanted were either in the median strips or in the vicinity of the project where construction work is being carried out.

The tree spade has been acquired from Pakistan Navy to shift the grown trees, affected due to construction work, to an alternative place in the vicinity.

In addition to the transplantation of grown trees, plants were also planted near this so that upon completion this project will not only ease the traffic flow in the vicinity but would also add to the beauty of the city.

It is pertinent to mention here that CDA has decided that in the future no tree will be chopped due to construction work rather it will be transplanted to an alternative site.

اسلام آباد: سی ڈی اے راول ڈیم انٹر چینج کی ترقی کے تحت آنے والے مکمل طور پر اگنے والے درختوں کو منتقل کرنے کے لیے ٹرانسپلانٹنگ مشینیں استعمال کر رہا ہے۔

کیپیٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) راول ڈیم انٹرچینج کی ترقی کے تحت آنے والے مکمل طور پر اگنے والے درختوں کو منتقل کرنے کے لیے جدید ٹری اسپیڈز (ٹرانسپلانٹنگ مشینیں) استعمال کر رہی ہے۔

سی ڈی اے پہلے ہی ماحولیاتی اثرات کی تشخیص (ای آئی اے) کی رپورٹ میں اس بات کا ارتکاب کرچکا ہے کہ اس منصوبے میں کوئی درخت نہیں کاٹا جائے گا اور نہ ہی کاٹا جائے گا بلکہ ان کو آس پاس کے کسی متبادل مقام پر لگایا جائے گا۔

اس تناظر میں ، جن درختوں کی پیوند کاری کی جا رہی ہے وہ یا تو درمیانی پٹیوں میں تھے یا اس منصوبے کے آس پاس جہاں تعمیراتی کام جاری ہے۔

پاکستان نیوی سے ٹری سپیڈ حاصل کیا گیا ہے تاکہ تعمیراتی کام کی وجہ سے متاثر ہونے والے درختوں کو قریبی جگہ پر منتقل کیا جا سکے۔

بڑھے ہوئے درختوں کی پیوند کاری کے علاوہ ، اس کے قریب پودے بھی لگائے گئے تاکہ یہ منصوبہ مکمل ہونے پر نہ صرف آس پاس کے ٹریفک کے بہاؤ کو کم کرے بلکہ شہر کی خوبصورتی میں بھی اضافہ کرے۔

یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ سی ڈی اے نے فیصلہ کیا ہے کہ مستقبل میں کوئی بھی درخت تعمیراتی کام کی وجہ سے نہیں کاٹا جائے گا بلکہ اسے متبادل جگہ پر ٹرانسپلانٹ کیا جائے گا۔
