CDA carrying out plantation to restore Islamabad’s green cover

According to the news sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) carries out massive plantations to ensure a clean and green environment across the city in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to the news sources, CDA had recently planted about 0.4 million plants of different species along highways, intersections, green belts, drain slopes, and parks to enhance the green cover of the city under its clean and green drive.

According to the details, some saplings of six feet in height were also planted in specified locations including Fatima Jinnah Park, Park Enclave, Diplomatic Enclave, Srinagar Highway, 9th Avenue, 10th Avenue, 11th Avenue, Margalla Road, Margalla Hills National Park, and Islamabad Highway.

The sources said the plantation was aimed at the landscaping of major avenues and roads in Islamabad which would eventually give the city a green look. They said the civic agency was also taking steps to grow fruit orchards across the city. Miyawaki forests were also grown in the city to enhance its green cover.

While talking to the media, in addition to the massive plantation, they said different development projects were also in progress which would not only increase the attraction of Islamabad but also help ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the capital.

He further added, The LED lights had also been installed along the Srinagar Highway and the Expressway to improve the night view of the capital.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق کیپیٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) وزیراعظم عمران خان کے ویژن کے مطابق شہر بھر میں صاف اور سرسبز ماحول کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے بڑے پیمانے پر شجرکاری کر رہی ہے۔
خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق سی ڈی اے نے حال ہی میں اپنی کلین اینڈ گرین مہم کے تحت شہر کے سرسبز و شاداب ماحول کو بڑھانے کے لیے شاہراہوں، چوراہوں، گرین بیلٹس، ڈرین سلوپس اور پارکوں کے ساتھ مختلف انواع کے تقریباً 0.4 ملین پودے لگائے ہیں۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق فاطمہ جناح پارک، پارک انکلیو، ڈپلومیٹک انکلیو، سری نگر ہائی وے، 9ویں ایونیو، 10 ویں ایونیو، 11 ویں ایونیو، مارگلہ روڈ، مارگلہ ہلز نیشنل پارک سمیت مخصوص مقامات پر چھ فٹ اونچائی کے کچھ پودے بھی لگائے گئے۔
ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ پودے لگانے کا مقصد اسلام آباد کی اہم شاہراہوں اور سڑکوں کی لینڈ سکیپنگ ہے جو کہ آخرکار شہر کو سبز رنگ دے گا۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ شہری ایجنسی پورے شہر میں پھلوں کے باغات اگانے کے لیے بھی اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔ میاواکی کے جنگلات بھی شہر کے سبزہ زار کو بڑھانے کے لیے اگائے گئے تھے۔
میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ بڑے پیمانے پر شجرکاری کے علاوہ مختلف ترقیاتی منصوبے بھی جاری ہیں جس سے نہ صرف اسلام آباد کی توجہ میں اضافہ ہوگا بلکہ دارالحکومت میں ٹریفک کی روانی کو یقینی بنانے میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ دارالحکومت کے رات کے نظارے کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے سری نگر ہائی وے اور ایکسپریس وے کے ساتھ ساتھ ایل ای ڈی لائٹس بھی لگائی گئی ہیں۔
